Let’s Change Things Together
As a resident of Wolfe Tone Street, Limerick City, with a business on O’Connell Street, I witness the deterioration of the city centre every day and, seeing the need for urgency, I have made the decision to stand for local election in an effort to use my experience and knowledge to turn this city centre decline around.
By standing as an Independent Candidate, I believe that I can provide strong leadership and a clear voice for change by rising above political debate and focusing on the fundamental problems of decline and mismanagement.
As an architect and urbanist with a specialism in city design and regeneration, I recognise the challenges that must be addressed to stop the decline of the city centre and, with my experience at senior level in Limerick City and County Council, I understand how this can be managed and resourced more effectively.
If elected, I will work to increase the vibrancy of Limerick City Centre.
I want to tackle dereliction and vacancy through encouraging people to return and live in the city centre which would increase the footfall for local businesses, and improve the retail experience & diversity in the city.
I also want to see better connectivity between Limerick City and its suburban areas through progressive high capacity public transport choices.
