About Maria

I am not a career politician, and I don’t come from a political background. I am a concerned citizen, a mother of two children, a wife, and an architect with a business in the city centre. Having lived in Limerick since 2008 I am compelled to put myself forward for local election because it has become clear to me that it is critical to have strong leadership in Limerick City West to fight the decline we have seen over the last number of years.

Through the work I carry out professionally, and the various local clubs and organisations that I am involved in, I see the same issues repeating themselves across our neighbourhoods with little or no meaningful action taken by the local authority to resolve them without serious effort on the part of the communities.

It is not good enough that we in the communities must work so hard to be taken seriously by our local authority, that the problems we face daily are not addressed, or sometimes not even acknowledged. I want to be a clear voice for all in Limerick City West and represent you tirelessly.

Limerick is a fantastic city. I am so proud to have chosen to live in the city centre to raise my family and do business. The issues I am prioritising have been successfully managed elsewhere in other cities with great success and there is no reason why Limerick cannot implement them with forward thinking and innovation. I worked in Limerick City and County Council for almost 8 years, and from my time there, I understand how these problems can be resourced properly and managed better.

I want to make sure that Limerick remains the city that my children will live in when they grow up, that I will continue to enjoy as my home and work in for the rest of my life. I have the passion, knowledge and resilience to see it through and resolve these issues for all of us as your local councillor for Limerick City West.

Let’s Change it Together. Vote for Maria #1.
